Roberto Lorenzini, born in Mori (TN, IT) in 1964, is a self-taught painter.
In 2009, due to a serious illness that leads him to have less and less physical energy, he transforms himself on an artistic level by abandoning his material paintings full of strength and attention to the hidden developments that art suggests, made with colors that blend with added objects, to undertake the path of clay sculpture through small, careful, slow, delicate and dedicated movements. With clay he writes his story: from the first works that depict snails as a symbol of the new difficulty and slowness, he moves on to the representation of the suitcase, which accompanies him in the painful movements from one hospital to another.
With the return of Hope he creates the Lady with the drawers, continuing with the awareness of a new life and the serenity found following the lung transplant he creates the woman with the balloons.
Keepers of his anguish and inevitable outbursts, written but never said, are his Diaries: looking at them you can't resist the temptation to open them and discover their secrets.
Roberto Lorenzini works clay, a poor material, with wisdom and delicacy leaving an indelible and recognizable signature transforming it into Art.
